  • 2 Stocks To Capitalize Off Of Horrifying U.S. Collapse [View article]
"Mr. Ryan appeared to be in schock. Mr. Ryan did not know what to say"

Mr. Ryan sure sounds like someone you want making decisions to run this country. Someone in shock and dumbfounded. Sounds like Mr. Ryam is the typical career politician. Paul Ryan will fit right in with the rest of the Republicans and Democrats.

  • Beware The Bubble In Brazil [View article]
"2. The new government is growing increasingly hostile to foreign investment judging from the recent $11B extortion attempt on Chevron (http://bit.ly/rBKwmy) and Transocean (http://bit.ly/oeANwU) for a minor spill in deep water."

Hmmmm, didn't the good old USA put the hammer down on BP, all you saw on TV was the disaster in the Gulf, and this was going to be an ongoing disaster for decades to come.

And what about those Toyota cars that had the faulty accelarators that would stick causing them to rocket out of control. People were scarred and were selling there Toyotas because they were DANGEROUS.

    And what did we learn

The US slams foreign companies to benefit for themselves, the BP disaster was nothing like they made it out, and Toyota has the largest Research and Development budget in the world, there was NOTHING wrong with Toyota cars, the US automakers just wanted the foreign car company slammed so they could sell Ford and Chevys.

    GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

  • The United Steelworkers union last night warned of the increasing chance of a strike on Wednesday by refinery workers in one or more locations if there's no progress in contract talks for a new three-year deal. The unions have expressed concern about safety protections for workers.  [View news story]
"Safety concerns. Yea right. Translation we want five people doing one person job instead of four"

Yea right. I lived all my life in Columbus, Ohio and google "Buckeye Steel". It was run by president, Samuel P. Bush, who was the grandfather of President George H.W. Bush and great-grandfather of President George W. Bush.

The place was a hell hole, scarry to drive by the place and watch all of the flames from the red hot steel being poured into the molds (you could see inside of it because half of the windows were broken out and never replaced).

A friend of mine was on the Columbus Fire Department and they had an emergency squad assigned full time to the place because they were always taking injured workers to the hospital or the morgue.

As it usually goes, profit over the safety of the workers.

  • Welcome To The Collapse Of 2011 [View article]
Scary stuff, I'm going to the store and load up on supplies, then going to the cellar where I will secure the door behind me, take refuge in the bunker, and come out in 3-4 years (when hopefully all of the pyramids will have collapsed).

See ya in 2014 or so

  • T. Boone Pickens' Extremely Bullish Energy Bets [View article]
They will drill the gas and oil from under our feet when it is nice and expensive.

Until then we will use the rest of the worlds oil and gas. That is called capitalism (where the means of production are operated for a profit).

It's all about profit, nothing else.

  • T. Boone Pickens' Extremely Bullish Energy Bets [View article]
I hear people complain that we have cheap gas right here in the US that we could drill.

That is not the way the oil and gas companies and the system works.
It will get used when we have expensive gas sitting under our feet. Until then we will use up the rest of the world's oil and gas.

    T. Boone and the rest of the spectulators know this, they make the big money when the consumer pays lots of money for it.

  • 4 Reasons Why Stocks Will Rally Again in 2011 [View article]
"things never spin out of control"

The boat we are on is a Ship of Fools, Led by Captains who spend the majority of there lives kissing babies and shaking hands to get re-elected. Once elected the New Captain appoints all of there buddies to the Crew, regardless of whether or not the person is qualified. And the Boat sails around in circles.

"They may go to the edge - but they do not go over the edge"

It was hundreds of years ago that they realized the world was not flat, so the Ship of Fools continues to sail around in circles, not worrying about going over the edge, and the Boat pulls into port about every 4 years to get a new Captain and Crew.

And when the Ship of Fools finally sinks, I'll bet money on it that the Life boat and Life vests don't work properly because these Captains ego refuse to let them believe the Ship will sink when they are Captain

  • WSJ Reports New Jersey Pension Deficit at $54 Billion - Actual Deficit $174 Billion; Illinois, California, New Jersey Among Worst States [View article]
"retired at age 50 with an annual pension of $180,000"

That is like using an example that I spilled some coffee on my lap at McDonalds and Im going to get hundreds of thousands of dollars in a lawsuit

probably one person does in both examples out of thousands.

    Pension reform?

What needs to be done is the people who have made it possible for an employee to make that kind of money should be fired or replaced. That is where the system is broken.

If you weed out the overpaid upper level managers, attorneys, doctors, school board and university administrators, and those highly overpaid appointments that show up every time a new republican/democratic party gets in charge, from the state payroll, then you will not have the pension problem.

Just as an example, there was a person I knew that worked 35 years as a township trustee making a small part time salary. Then the party he backed got elected and he got an 87,000 dollar a year salary for 4 years. When he retired he got his retirement based on three of those years he made the big money. Thanks the people you vote into office for that one.

And by the way, look at some of the Gov. Chris Christie’s administration appointments, there getting the big bucks and they will get the big retirements based on the high salaries he gave them.

  • Should You Follow Bill Gross Into Municipal Bonds? [View article]
I worked for a large consulting engineering company for 15 years. We did large amounts of work for State and local governments (highway design projects, sewer design projects, bike trails, boat ramps, etc. etc. etc). About 5 years ago we had to compare the cost of us (the consultant) doing the work, versus the state doing the work inhouse in there design department. We took into account salaries, pensions, overhead costs, markup, etc. etc.. It turned out that it was much cheaper to have the State Transportation Department do the work inhouse compared to the consultant doing it.

The reason why: It wasn't that the consultant's employees were making more money, it was because the major owners of the consultant company were getting a huge amount of money in the markup, they calculated everthing cost plus, and the plus was huge. The owners of the consultant were just like the fat cat CEO's of the wall street companies.

Eventually (even though we were more expensive)we still got all the work at the consultant because of influence from a few elected politicians, oh by the way our company had made contributions to these politicians.

So don't blame the workers at the Goverment, or at the consultants. Blame the real villians the owners and the politicians that cost the taxpayers millions of dollars.

And by the way, during the civil war they Goverment it where the companies did not bid on design work because if a bridge was blown up, they needed it fixed right of way. Today all consultants still get all design work from the goverment without bidding on it, because of a law from the civil war. Thats how the sytem works when you pay the politicians
